The Boherquill Ramblers 2025 Walking Festival will be held on Friday 9th and Sunday 11th May. On Friday 9th there will be a walk at Tullynally Castle and Gardens near Castlepollard. Registration will be at 5.30pm and the walk will start at 6.15pm. Refreshments at the Castle Tea Shop after the walk. The registration fee of €15 pp will include  entry to the gardens and post-walk refreshments.

On Sunday 11 May there will be a longer walk of about 23 km through Coolnagun Bog and on to Fore village with drop-out points along the way. Registration will be in Fore at 10.15am and refreshments will be available at Jane O’Reilly’s Fore Coffee Shop before a bus will leave Fore at 11am sharp for Coolnagun. The walk route will include bog, an old green road through woodland before a lunch stop at Coolure beside Lough Derravaragh and then through the grounds of Tullynally Castle to Castlepollard and the last stretch back to Fore. Registration is €20 pp for the Sunday walk alone or €30 for both Friday and Sunday. The Sunday fee includes bus fare to the start point and tea/coffee before and after the walk. Please bring a packed lunch. A  hi-vis vest and appropriate footwear are essential. Strictly no dogs. Members and non-members are welcome.
